| Susanna is an experienced performer and teacher known for her exhuberance, energy, humour in performance, her connection to the audience, and for soulful interpretation of the different forms of Egyptian Dance. She specialises almost exclusively in traditional and contemporary forms of the Raqs Sharqi Society Style.
She founded Habiba Dance to promote performance and teaching in traditional, expressive and theatrical forms of Egyptian Dance and in 2009 was awarded Associate Membership of the Raqs Sharqi Society in recognition of this work.
Susanna is also a member of the Foundation for Community Dance, and completed their Certificate in Age Inclusive Practice in 2011. She is also a teacher member of Northern Arabic Dance Association.

Training
Susanna, has trained extensively in Egyptian Dance for 15 years. She was initially trained by local Edinburgh teacher Lorne
McCall, and other key influencers in her artistic
development include Juliana Brustik, Béatrice Grognard and Anne Ashcroft whose classes and workshops she has followed for a number of years across the UK, Belgium and Egypt. | | | |
|  Susanna takes her continued development as a professional dancer and
teacher seriously and continues to train regularly with leading teachers in her field. Additionally, she also over 10 years experience of training in other dance and
movement forms including Scottish Country Dance, Ballet, Contemporary
Dance, Jazz and Cabaret and Pilates.
Teaching
Susanna is a popular Edinburgh based teacher, teaching regular classes and workshops around Scotland, and catering to different levels ranging from Absolute Beginners to Professional Dancers. Past teaching engagements include Glasgow Festival of Arabic Dance and the Fife Illuminate series of workshops. Her teaching style is patient and giving, combining a strong grounding in technique with musical expression, and always bringing a sense of fun to her classes and workshops. Performance
Susanna frequently performs at professional, private, charity and
community showcases and events throughout Scotland and beyond. Performance credits include: guest star in Gaslight Faeries at Glasgow's Britannia Panopticon music hall and Glasgow University; the Raqs Sharqi Society showcase in London; and many successful charity fundraisers across Scotland.
